NASAL FACIAL RECONSTRUCTION

Nasal Facial Reconstruction is a complex procedure. It is usually needed after the removal of skin cancers or trauma. The initial process is to have a clean well-healing wound. If the wound can be closed by bringing the edges of the wound together this is a primary closure. But sometimes the patient’s defect is too large and requires skin to fill in the wound. Skin grafts may be used but usually don’t quite match the color of the surrounding skin. Skin flaps from local skin—skin closest to the wound—gives the closest color match to the repaired wound.
